I had similar thoughts...wondering if enough left to make the trip worth it.
The Mother Road: Historic Route 66
Most of what is left isn't marked.
Re: OT Your Favorite or Most Respected Musical Artist
I've done a good bit of Route 66. East to West twice, West to East once. Not much left, but still enough if you look for it. Only driven a tiny bit of 66 from OK City north. Maybe some day.

Excellent, thanks for the pointer.
It's probably about time I got some Wes on CD, will have a look for it.
Great album cover to boot on that one. Wes had some nice ones.

Au contraire. :-) IMO BTC [note source of name likely the hymn 'brighten the corner' (singular)].
...is one of if not Pavement's best, and my preferred daily driver.
I am off to look up Mitch as we speak... thanks!
Caught the current tour @ the Mann Music center in September. Rapture.

I agree Brighten the Corners is one of their better albums, just not my personal favorite. I missed them this tour--they are phenomenal live--must have been a great show. Mitch Easter has produced a lot of other great bands as well and I'm a fan of his former band "Let's Active".....
Here's a song by a band called The Loud Family that Mitch produced....

Sorry to take over the thread w/Indie Rock (for lack of better classification)
Noting that I have not been able to get to the Let's Active stuff just yet, alas the few things I am able to grab don't seem intrinsically like BTC. Will keep an ear open though.

Found some:
Seems M.E. had a hand in them but not confirmed yet.
The Service Economy: Almighty Flying Machines (BTC sounding @ end)
'Magnolia' by 'Houstons' , not bad either.

Do not apologize. IMO, threads like this are truly one of the good things that the internet brings us. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but occasionally i'll find myself at a loss to choose listening material, or explore new material. Threads like this present lots of options and opportunities to discover new music that we might never be otherwise aware of. By all means, if you listen to it and enjoy it, don't hesitate to post it.:D

That's great Pano. I thought I would have to dodge the pitchforks from the Altec devills around here
for making that post. I think your Hiraga A-5's will give a very convincing presentation. Their are 4
live concerts of this coming up next week. They sell out fast. I hope you enjoy it very much..............
:)

Ooh. I'm claiming Altec Devils as my next band name. ;-)
(and, as bowtie reinforced) No particular snobbery WRT content here on my end.
